Be that as it may, an appropriate assessment of the created arrangement is required to comprehend the phases that will be taken in a business. Reason for the gathering One of the most significant things of directing a gathering is the motivation behind the gathering. The fundamental motivation behind the gathering was to upgrade the business income age by building up the new valuing technique. Notwithstanding, it is significant for every association to discuss unmistakably with their partners in regards to the plan of the gathering to develop their enthusiasm toward this gathering (Chen et al., 2016). The association ought to guarantee that the gathering, which they are going to direct, will be skilled to satisfy their motivation (Dimitrova, 2016). In any case, on the off chance that the motivation behind the gathering isn't clear, at that point it is hard to pick up progress from such gathering. Job Stress An Essential Component Of Communication

Certain occupations tend to be more stressful than others, and nursing is widely considered to be one such profession. Over the last 10 years, nurses consistently reported the highest levels of job stress out of all healthcare professionals (American Nurse Association, 2011). Job stress is noted to cause harmful physical, psychological and emotional responses which occur when the needs of the job do not meet the needs of the worker. Amongst nurses, the highest sources of stress are due to the heavy workload, poor management, professional conflicts, and the emotional demands of caring for the patients. A stressful event occurred during a nursing 12-hour shift that started with a poor shift report from the previous night shift nurse. The transfer of accurate information and the responsibility for the care of the patient from one nurse to another is an essential component of communication in the healthcare setting. When the nurse receives a poor shift report and inaccurate information about her patients, it puts a lot of pressure on the nurse and leads to frustration. The nurse then spends a lot of time trying to get accurate information from the patient’s chart. Working in the telemetry floor, they should have stable patients since the ratio is 1:4. However, with an assignment of 4 patients, one of the patients the nurse had to take care of was a critically ill patient with a blood pressure reading of 62/25, heartrate of 170, oxygen saturation level of 90% on 6 liters ofShow MoreRelatedMotivation, Stress, and Communication in the Work Environment1300 Words   |  5 Pagesï » ¿Running Head: Motivation, Stress, and Communication Motivation, Stress, and Communication Motivation, Stress, and Communication As the world has crossed the threshold of twenty-first century, the phenomenon of business community has transformed, resulted in a more competitive world. Case Study of Betty Ford Psy/410 July 22, 2012 Case Study of Betty Ford Substances, such as alcohol, are used for a variety of different reasons. Alcohol is often used as a way to celebrate a special occasion. It can also be used to help an individual â€Å"take the edge off† when he or she is feeling overwhelmed. Many individuals use alcohol when gathered with others in a social setting, while others may drink alcohol when spending time alone. The use of alcohol can become a problem when the individual begins to face challenges in his or her daily life. Some of these challenges can include increasing problems with emotional or physical health, the ability to maintain a steady job, and a steady withdrawal from family and friends.†¦show more content†¦She began experiencing a variety of physical and psychological health problems which also affected how she felt. Some of these health problems included reoccurring pain in her neck from a previously pinched nerve, emotional fatigue, and the diagnoses of breast cancer (of which she became a strong advocate). To ease the pain she was feeling, Betty would be prescribed a variety of medications of which she eventually grew a tolerance to. In addition to the medications, Betty would increase the amount of alcohol she was drinking in an attempt to comfort her pain. After their departure from the White House, Betty and Jerry moved to California where Betty began to feel more and more isolated and alone. At this point, Betty’s children were all grown up and living on their own and Jerry kept himself busy by continuing his engagements in political activities. Betty became more dependent on prescription medications and alcohol to relieve her pain and depression and also less involved in the social arena. After realizing the full extent of her illness and addictions, her family intervened, and eventually they were able to convince Betty to seek treatment. Discipline and Management Comparison Free Essays

Runninghead: DISCIPLINE AND MANAGEMENT: DIFFERENT YET RELATED COMPARISON Discipline and Management: Different Yet Related Comparison Essay Corwin K. Richardson Grand Canyon University Discipline and Management: Different Yet Related Comparison Essay Thinking on classroom management and the ability to effectively teach and guide students of several different backgrounds tends to be a daunting thought. One that has pressed the hearts and minds of teachers and administrators for many days past and which will probably continue to press for many days to come. We will write a custom essay sample on Discipline and Management Comparison or any similar topic only for you Order Now Being confident that you are aware; management alone is a skill that requires several years of practice to become proficient at, not to mention the management of students and their personalities. This essay will deal with the comparisons of discipline and management as it relates to the comparison of behavior versus misbehavior. Each term will be defined in personal understanding and then expounded upon with citations from noted authorities in each subject matter. There similarities and differences will be presented in addition to there apparent relationship with each other. Discipline is something that is the result of an unwanted act. It can be seen as a corrective action that is taken to discourage a behavior that needs to be discontinued. Ex. Mr. Brown quickly removed the unruly student from the classroom. In this example, Mr. Brown chose to remove the disruptive student from the classroom as a method of discipline. However, discipline may be seen as a measure of self-control that someone applies to themselves. This is in any case, a measure of correction. According to Charles, discipline is defined as a teacher’s efforts to maintain classroom decorum and secure students’ cooperation in learning and exercising self-control (p. 45, 2008). This understanding opens up the window of possibilities as to what measure is taken by means of discipline that is deemed necessary to keep the classroom flowing with full cooperation in learning. Regarding self-control; this is a willful act on the student’s part based upon their understanding of order and how it affects their life, even in the classroom. The responsibility of teaching students the need for order can be argued to be the parents; but somehow it ends up being the teachers’. Management is the order in which someone takes things and place them in a systematic way that they can manage them better. Ex. Ms. Wendy moved all of the noisy students’ seats in a way that brought quiet and focus to the class. In this example Ms. Wendy’s management system was to arrange the classroom in such a way that all the class could benefit from the lesson. A collaborative definition of management as expressed by Canter is an environment created by a teacher who motivates and believes in the students; one who effectively plans to manage student behavior in all classroom activities and instructional strategies; a teacher who has the trust of all the students (pp. 6-7, 2006). Behavior is simply the way someone conducts themself. Ex. Bobby obeys every word his father says. In the example, Bobby’s behavior was obedient. This is clearly a defining point in behavior that illustrates how someone acts in an environment or situation. Some authorities such as Canter believe that behavior is greatly influenced by a teacher’s ability to establish a classroom that promotes academic success for all students from the very first day of school (p. 31, 2006). Misbehavior is when someone conducts themselves in a way that is unacceptable. Ex. Janie has random outbursts in class and doesn’t respect her teachers. This shows that Janie is misbehaving by not respecting her teachers and by her outbursts. Canter also suggests that students don’t like or respect teachers who let them get away with misbehavior (p. 6, 2006). This would indicate that the disrespect that some students show their teachers is a direct result of the teacher’s inability to convey their authority and order in the classroom with their students. In other words, the students may feel as though the teachers are â€Å"push-over’s†. In conclusion, discipline is a product of management which is directly related to the eff ectiveness by which management is executed, which determines the level of discipline needed to maintain it. On the other wise, behavior is the product of discipline and is directly influenced towards acceptable or unacceptable conduct by the effectiveness of the management plan. If the management system is proficient then a good disciplinary plan will be in place and if so, then behavior will be appropriate and almost all misbehavior will be eliminated. Partial-Birth Abortion essays

Partial-Birth Abortion essays Partial-Birth Abortions, are they wrong? Every once in a while, a topic of discussion will come up that makes some people cringe. Just at the mere thought of a debate, or that someone could be against a belief of his or her own, is mind-boggling! And so it begins, the heated debate. Debates can come in all lengths and sizes. However, none of them will usually be as strong or potentially violent as an ethical practice. Ethics can affect a person in ways he or she had no clue. The person may become upset and cry, feel sick, or even get violent. Although I myself remain calm over most debates, abortion is one that I feel rather strongly about. But it is not just abortion that I feel so stern over. In fact, I feel that it is a womans right to choose what she does with her own body when it comes to abortion. Although, one situation that I do not accept the same is partial-birth abortion. This paper is being written as an informative approach to an unfortunately fast growing reality. By the end of this paper, the read er should have a clear understanding of what a partial-birth abortion is, how it is used, who performs it, what methods are used, the pros and cons of partial-birth abortion, where I stand as the author, and how to put an end to such a horrific and tragic event. Partial-birth abortion is the partial delivery by means of the fetus passing from the uterus to the vagina, where the unborn childs life is terminated from the procedure. The procedure must take place during the second half of pregnancy and normally in the second trimester to be considered a partial-birth abortion. This definition, which Jennifer Doran states, although widely understood, is criticized for not using any medical terminology and has never helped in passing any legislature on this subject because of it (1). Partial-birth abortions are used for a variety of reasons, each thought to be the only way by the...

2 Easy Tips to Remember Reoccurring vs Recurring

2 Easy Tips to Remember Reoccurring vs Recurring SAT / ACT Prep Online Guides and Tips You’ve likely seen the word "recurring," but what about "reoccurring"? Is this word just a synonym for the former, or does it mean something different? In actuality, there's a lot to learn when it comes to reoccurring vs recurring. Read on to get more information about the similarities and differences between these two words, what they each look like when used in writing, and how you can know when and how to use them. Reoccurring vs Recurring: What's the Difference? The words "reoccurring" and "recurring" might look very similar, but they’re not exactly identical in meaning to each other- at least, not always. Let's start by looking at the "recurring" definition. "Recurring," which you’ve likely seen more often, is an adjective and verb that refers to something that happens again, usually repeatedly or at regular intervals. Its basic verb form is "recur." For example, you could describe a theme that comes up many times in a story as a recurring theme. Or you could call a dream you have again and again a recurring dream. Meanwhile, the adjective and verb "reoccurring" refers to something that happens again- but not necessarily repeatedly or periodically. This word originally comes from the verb "reoccur," which is simply the verb "occur" with the prefix "re" (meaning "again") attached to it. For instance, people might fear that a natural disaster will reoccur in their area (in other words, they fear it will happen again after having happened at least once). To sum up, although both "recurring" and "reoccurring" have similar definitions in that they each describe something happening again, "recurring" typically points to something that happens repeatedly or regularly, whereas "reoccurring" does NOT have any such implication. Now, let’s check that you understand these nuanced differences with reoccurring vs recurring by looking at an example: A recurring problem vs A reoccurring problem The first phrase, "a recurring problem," means that the problem has likely happened multiple times already and continues to happen or seems likely to continue happening. The second phrase, "a reoccurring problem," suggests that the problem likely happened at least once and is now happening again- but without any hint that it will continue to happen or is happening on a regular basis. Now that you've got a better grasp of reoccurring vs recurring, let's look at the history of the two words (that is, their etymology). A Brief History of Recurring vs Reoccurring As it turns out, the histories behind the words "reoccurring" and "recurring" are pretty similar. Both "recur" and "reoccur" come from the Latin word currere, which means "to run." As a result, both words mean "to run again," with "run" acting as a synonym for "happen." "Recur" is the older of the two, originating in the early 16th century, while "reoccur" came about in the 18th century. Because the word "recurring" is older and far more common than "reoccurring," there has been debate about whether "reoccurring" (and "reoccur") is an actual word. Though several older dictionaries don't have an entry for "reoccur" specifically, many recent editions do (or, at the very least, list it as a variation of "occur" under the prefix "re"). Here is an overview of the different forms for reoccurring vs recurring: Root Word/Verb Adjective Noun Verb + ing recur recurring recurrence recurring reoccur (prefix re + occur) reoccurring reoccurrence reoccurring Birthdays (and therefore birthday cakes!) recur each year. Real Examples of Recurring and Reoccurring Even though "recurring" is a more common word than "reoccurring," both words appear often in real-life newspapers and online news sources. Here, we give you several examples to show you the different uses of "reoccurring" and "recurring." Note that, in some cases, the words "recurring" and "reoccurring" are used as adjectives while in other cases are used as verbs. You’ll know a word is an adjective if it’s being used before a noun. I’ve also included a couple of examples that use the noun forms of both words ("recurrence" and "reoccurrence"). All bold emphasis in the following quotations is my own. "A new book claims understanding the meaning of these recurring dreams will transform your life." (Daily Mail) "Identify ways to keep it from reoccurring in the future, and clearly communicate the message to your entire team." (Huffington Post) "However, normal grief will always have moments of reoccurring sharpness, pain as raw as the very first day." (Huffington Post) "A reoccurring back injury limited his playing time in 2003 and 2005." (New York Times) "For instance, along with investing spare change from purchases, Acorns encourages customers to make a recurring investment of as little as $5 a month." (Los Angeles Times) "For many women who thought they had beaten breast cancer, the news that it has roared back years later comes as an especially cruel diagnosis with no clear answers for why or how it recurs." (Science Daily) "The 'Great Flood' of 1861 to 1862 is becoming more likely to reoccur as the climate warms, a new study finds." (Mashable) "Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez has confirmed that he has suffered a recurrence of the cancer he was treated for last year." (BBC) "Regulators are expected to put in place in the coming days new rules aimed at preventing a reoccurrence of last month's stunning stock market 'flash crash.'" (Seattle Times) Reoccurring or Recurring? 2 Tips for Using Both Words To wrap up, we give you two tips to help you know when and how to use both "recurring" and "reoccurring." #1: Memorize Set Phrases It can be helpful to familiarize yourself with common phrases out there that use either "recurring" or "reoccurring" (though the former is far more likely). Here are some set phrases with the word "recurring" that will likely come up often in everyday situations: Recurring dream Recurring theme Recurring character Recurring illness Recurring decimal Recurring payment Although there aren’t nearly as many set phrases with the word "reoccurring," I have noticed that many news sources use the phrase "prevent the reoccurrence of ~." The phrase seems to be used most often when referring to a one-off incident, problem, or catastrophe that has the risk of happening again. Nobody wants a stock market crash to reoccur! #2: When in Doubt, Use Recurring If you’re really not sure whether you should use "recurring" or "reoccurring," it’s always better to go with "recurring." Not only is this particular word more commonly used, but it also has a much broader meaning than "reoccurring" does. Remember that "reoccurring" refers only to something that happens again, while "recurring" can refer to something that happens again, possibly repeatedly or at regular intervals. Because "recurring" has a more diverse definition, it’ll always be the safer bet! What’s Next? You've likely heard of metaphors, but how do they differ from similes? Fiscal Policy - Assignment Example This system allows for control of discount rates in the various district banks thereby protecting consumers. In addition, the system can be able to control money supply through easing the monetary policy through sale of financial assets to increase money supply. It can also tighten monetary policy through selling financial assets hence reducing money supply. Control via the Federal Reserve System is hence greater in terms of money supply to the economy. The Federal Reserve System monetary policy often influences the levels of spending, prices and employments through a number of means. The Reserve System main goal entails regulating money supply in the economy in order to keep unemployment and inflation low plus to promote steady economic growth. In case of inflation, purchasing power of people reduces and leads to more unemployment in a given economy. The Federal Reserve System in such instances often increases discount rates accorded to banks in an attempt to reduce the money supply in a given economy. The advantages of getting a good knowledge and learning in community Term Paper

The advantages of getting a good knowledge and learning in community - Term Paper Example One of the main advantages of getting a good knowledge and learning in the community is the reduction in illiteracy. Reduction in illiteracy means that there is an increase in literacy and knowledge. Reduction in illiteracy is also associated with a decrease in unemployment. The question is, how is getting a good education and knowledge connected with an increase in knowledge and the reduction in unemployment? It can be said that as an individual; if one obtains a good education and knowledge, and later on becomes a parent, he or she is likely to pass on the obtained education and knowledge to his or her children. Dummett, Hughes, and Stephenson (2013) reported â€Å"The problem often is that such knowledge is stored only in local people’s minds, and it is passed from generation to generation.† (p. 130). Nevertheless, a strong and formal education background enables the child to learn beyond what the community he or she resides in, hence, adding to their knowledge. Enha nced knowledge goes a long way in reducing unemployment. An examination of the Arab Spring indicates that the Arab spring can be associated with the large rates of unemployment. Hamdan (2011) notes that quantity in place of quality is not appropriate for education. Passing on quality education and knowledge to each generation ensures that they gain the required concepts and ideas that they can use to develop self-employment. Self-employment means that the persons making up a large part of these generations become job creators and not job seekers. In turn, this reduces the unemployment levels by having the job creators employ more and more persons. Another advantage of getting a good education and knowledge is sustainable human development. McKeown (n.d.) opines that education is an important tool for attaining sustainability. Development alone is not enough if it cannot be sustained.

The 21st Century American The traits of the typical American have changed drastically throughout the years. Americans have become different in many ways from when they officially became independent in 1776 to the present time in 2001. America is strong, powerful, and influential. Our values often differ from values of other countries due to cultural contrasts such as with religious, racial, and education issues. It is these differences that sometimes make our country seem more appealing to those of foreign lands. Our common American values bind us together as one unit. When people who have lived in America all their lives travel to a different part of the country, they are often just as amazed at the differences in culture as people are who come to America from foreign countries. Getting a career as a health services or medical manager may evolve by progressing to a bigger competence or by achieving a title as a subordinate or partner administrator. These titles not only pay much, but obligate greater accountabi lity. Biomedical Engineering Technologists Bioengineering and biomedical engineering technologists lastly, concentrates on biomedical apparatus (â€Å"Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering Technology†). They could labor on draft or appliances, or could be accountable for setting up, preparation, procedure or preservation for the biomedical equipment. Bioengineering technologists may also labor on the improvement or execution of biomedical schemes. They usually labor in hospitals or self-governing medical assistance organizations, and may examine, standardize, or handle equipment established in the provision they work in. Conclusion The employment rate under the medical field is expected to grow more than the normal profession through 2012, because of an increasing health services industry. Elevating chances will originate in out-patient care foundation, health practitioners and doctor’s working places, and in residence healthcare services. Workers with fine administ ration and business expertise and understanding in the healthcare industry will have the utmost opportunities. However, job availability in hospitals are predicted to elevate at a slower speed than in other specialization areas because of the hospitals’ focus on substitute care areas and to more guarded budgets. But, hospitals will still utilize the uppermost number of health services. The finest job opportunities in hospitals will go to them with great competence experience. Employment is increasing fastest in residence healthcare agencies and in practitioners’ workplace, due to a number of hospital benefits that are moving offsite because of developing technologies.Skilled experience in a line of work will give managers with more opportunities. Employees working in these fields will be obtainable with an elevated concentration on preventive care, financial responsibility, forces of cost suppression, and will concentrate on civilizing the public health. Healthcare comp anies offer hospitals and organizations, and particular sector (physician employing, emergency, handled care deal talks, and data management schemes) with a variety of management services.Health and medical career opportunities then will have employment chances with these institutions. What Is a Climax Forest

A plant community that is dominated by trees representing the last stage of natural succession for that specific locality and environmentally should be considered a climax forest. To be a climax forest, trees growing within a particular geographic region should remain essentially unchanged in terms of species composition for as long as the site remains undisturbed. Foresters have adopted a  practical silvicultural approach when managing large stable communities of climax tree species.  They use and name a climax forest as the final stage in terms of the stabilization of the major tree species. These conditions are observed on a human timescale and can maintain specific tree species and other plants over hundreds of years. This definition is honored by some but not by all. In contrast, speculative ecologists conclude that there can never be a climax forest. Their claim is because cyclical disturbance (both natural and human-caused) will always be a constant in North American forests. A climax community by a more accepted definition is a relatively stable and undisturbed plant community that has evolved through major stages and adapted to its environment. A climax species is a plant species that will remain essentially unchanged in terms of species composition for as long as the site remains undisturbed. How Forests Are Created and Mature Forests are always in some evolving process that takes place in several major defined steps or stages and until completion and each stage is called a sere.  A sere can also be called a  seral community  and are the  multiple stages found during  forest  succession  in a forest ecosystem advancing towards its  climax community. In many cases, more than one seral stage evolves until climax conditions are attained The major phases of forest succession in a post-glacial, temperate world leading to climax follow a certain mechanical pattern of development. Ecologists have created terms and most agree that initial forest establishment  starts from some disturbance that creates a bare site which they call  Nudism. With the  introduction of living regenerative plant material to that bare site from certain sexual and asexual processes and along with seed transportation, succession begins with the process of plant movement called  Migration. This migrating of plant-produced genetic material toward more advantageous living and growing conditions that then encourage  the  establishment of vegetative growth which is called  Ecesis.  In this state of expanding plant growth, pioneer or early seeding plant species pave the way toward the succession of more stable plants and trees. So,  plants (including trees) that make a desperate attempt to quickly capture space, light, and nutrients are now in  Competition with all other vegetative organisms that demand  the same  elements for life. This plant community then makes a significant change  from the effects of competition and is called the  Reaction stage in a forest ecosystem. This reaction to competition slowly but surely creates a calming symbiosis of existing species in a long path toward stabilization. The long-term and  final development of a forest climax community is called  Stabilization  and creates a forest that lasts until the next inevitable disturbance or change in the climate. 100,000 Year Cycles Change Climax Tree Species A plausible  theory of advancing and retreating ice suggests that the climax forest of today will not be the stable forests of the far future. So even the climax oaks and beeches of today may be transient on the geological timescale in the northern latitudes. In tropical latitudes, forests seem to withstand global cooling to the point where they may vastly expand and contract. It is thought that this changing of rainforests creates patches which encourages astonishingly diverse assemblages of the kind we see in the Amazon. Colin Tudge digs deeply into this theory and other fascinating tree facts in his book called  The Tree: A Natural History of What Trees Are, How They Live, and Why They Matter.
